This is a giclée print of my original mixed media painting Strength, number VIII in my forthcoming Tarot project, the Sibylline Tarot.
Strength has always been one of my favorite archetypes from the Tarot. The potent dynamic between docile woman and feral creature, and the motif of transcendence over physical limitations and obstacles has been one I return to often in my own work. I find great inspiration in the fiery nature of this painting: in her blossoming headdress, her deep brown eyes, in the majesty of the leopard lying beside her, and the phoenix of transformation which rises from their convergence.
